Karura Warranty

Each case is warranted for 1 year against defects in parts and workmanship. During this period, Karura may repair, replace or provide monetary compensation as a remedy for problems with warranted products depending upon each individual situation. In no instance will Karura substitute a refurbished case for a new case without notifying the customer.

Karura will pay associated shipping and handling and insurance charges for valid warranty claims. At our discretion, Karura will pay authorized dealers to accomplish warrantee repairs or part replacements.

Karura requires that customers register new products within 30 days of original purchase in order to receive warranty benefits. Registration is accomplished via the internet by accessing the warrantee registration form on this website and entering owner information and case Serial Number in the text box.

Warrantee claims will be administered by the dealer who sold the warranted product. Claims should be initiated by contacting your authorized Karura Dealer. If the product was purchased directly from Karura, the warranty claim shall be initiated via the internet by accessing through the contact form on this website and entering the information required and a description of your difficulty.

Following successful submission of the warranty claim, the customer will be contacted by the dealer or a Karura representative as soon as possible to help you resolve the issue. Customers must request and receive a warranty claim number from Karura Case before receiving any warranty benefit. At this time Karura will provide customer with instructions for shipping which will be paid for by the company.

All warranty claims require the following information: Product S/N, Proof of Original Purchase original export/import documentation, warranty registration number and customer contact information. Failure to provide this information may impair satisfaction of the claim or additional charges to the customer.

Exceptions to Warranty:

Karura does not accept responsibility for guitar cases produced by companies other than World Liberty (Thailand) Ltd. Co.

Karura is not liable for damage attributable to misuse or alteration, accident or mishandling during use, travel or shipment.

Karura’s entire liability for any defective Product shall in no event exceed the original price for the defective Product. Karura in no way warrants insures or guarantees the customer against loss to content carried in Karura Cases Karura provides excellent instrument protection but customers with extremely valuable instruments should insure the instrument s against damage or loss.

Karura’s warranty may be transferred. Warrantee transfer requires that the new owner go to Karura’s website contact page, enter and submit warrantee transfer S/N Name and contact information.

The warranty period is limited to 12 consecutive months beginning the day of customer receipt of the case

These product benefits do not apply to Karura cases sold as factory seconds, refurbished units or by individuals or unauthorized dealers.

Shipping Charges

All products are delivered Freight on Board (F O B) Bangkok Thailand. In other words, we deliver to the freight company that you choose in Bangkok.

Karura will charge you and prepay shipping for you. Karura does not charge a handling fee or mark up shipping costs. Karura charges you the exact cost that we pay to ship to you. Shipping costs vary some due to currency conversion. (we pay shipping fees in Thai Baht and charge you shipping fees in US dollars) Ultimately you shall be responsible for shipping loss or damage. If contact with the shipper is in Thailand, Karura will do our best to work on your behalf.

Product Returns and Repairs – Customer Mistake

Karura is committed to customer satisfaction. If a product must be modified or replaced due to Karura’s mistake, we pay all shipping costs. We reserve the right to repair, replace or provide monetary compensation to you in an effort to achieve a mutually satisfactory solution to problems caused by Karura.

If a customer claims that a custom fit case is not built to the specifications provided by the customer, customer must provide photographs documenting that Karura did not fit the case to dimensions specified.

If a return or refit is required due to a customer mistake or action (e.g. submission of incorrect measurements or body tracing, handling damage or selection of the wrong product or color choice etc), Karura will modify or replace the returned product to satisfy the customer as quickly as possible, however; the customer will be responsible for shipping and handling charges and costs associated with modifying or refurbishing the case to original condition or alternate specification. Customer will be responsible for all loss or damage during shipment arising from these circumstances.

If a customer requests a refund for a case which is delivered to specification and free of defects, Karura will refund the full purchase price of the product, but no shipping costs. In addition, we will charge a $200 restocking fee for each returned case. The customer is responsible for return shipping on the product you are returning. The refund will be issued after the original case has been returned to Karura in new condition

Carrier Provided Shipping Insurance

Karura recommends that customer insure tthier case purchase against loss or damage in transit. Approximately 2% of cases are lost or damaged in transit to the customer.

The customer may purchase insurance from the shipping carrier. In case of loss or damage to cases covered by carrier insurance, customer is responsible for pursuing compensation from the carrier. Carrier provided shipping insurance is available for most carriers with the exception of parcel post shipment.

Karura Provided Shipping Insurance

It is not possible to purchase carrier provided insurance for cases shipped parcel post. for cases. Because of this, Karura offers our privately funded insurance package If you purchase Karura’s insurance you receive the following benefits

• Cosmetic Dents dents less than 1.5 (3.8 cm) in in length or width and less than 7mm deep Benefit – $50 per dent
• Cosmetic gelcoat crack less than 3 in. (7.6 cm) in Benefit – $50 per conjoined crack
• Cosmetic gelcoat crack than 3 in. (7.6 cm) in length and less than 7mm deep Benefit – $100 per conjoined crack
• Cosmetic gelcoat chips less than 1.5 (3.8 cm) in in length or width and less than 7mm deep Benefit – $100– per conjoined crack or chip
• Cosmetic gelcoat chips greater than 1.5 (3.8 cm) in in length or width and less than 7mm deep Benefit – $150– per conjoined crack or chip
• Puncture of shell – Product Replacement upon return of original case
• Damage to external hardware – shipment of case to and from repair facility, replacement of component
• Loss of case – Product replacement – copy of claim form filed with local carrier required
• Structural damage to case product replacement

Cosmetic damage is defined as visible damage to the surface of the case or limited damage to the outer layer of composite which does not affect the ability of the case to properly protect the instrument.

Molded Finish Quality

Karura builds the world’s most attractive hand built and finished flight cases. Karura case shells are infusion molded. This process sometimes results in very minor cosmetic irregularities which do not affect the structural integrity of the case. Folllowing shell production, eash shell is hand sanded and polished to eliminate finish irregularities to the extent possible. Because each case is built by hand, each case will be unique. Customers agree to accept very minor surface finish variations. If customers prefer to have all surface defects eliminated, customers should order the Allure finish.
